Plot twist: instead of going to Budapest, Prague, and Vienna, I spent those those two weeks in February going to several doctor appointments, having surgery, and recovering in the hospital. Instead of exploring Eastern Europe by myself and following my dreams, I spent a week in the hospital and recovering from a large, malignant ovarian tumor. I’ll spare you the rest of the gory details.
I am happy to report that I am currently cancer free, but I have to go to the doctor every three months for the next three to five years. My aunt told me that I can’t go out of the country anymore because every time I try, someone gets diagnosed with cancer. That, of course, made me want to travel even more. I came home from the hospital infected with a severe case of the travel bug.
This experience may have limited my freedom to an extent, but I will continue to travel as much as I can. Paulo Coelho wrote, “It is the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”. Rest assured, Bloggerverse, I intend to continue my pursuit of adventure and exploration and to remain positive. Let’s keep things interesting.
Sad that your trip was put on the back burner again. But don’t let that hold you back, you keep on dreaming and planning your next wonderful trip!
