Remember my post about hobbies in which I committed to learning a new skill with the risk of possible public embarrassment? Well, I committed to learning something new in 2019: American Sign Language! I will be starting my first class at the end of this month, and I cannot wait. I signed up with the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind to learn very basic sign language. I know a few vocabulary words and how to sign the alphabet, mostly, but I have no idea how to translate that into real conversation with someone. I am so excited to learn a new skill that will help me connect with more people and hopefully with myself as well.

I’ll keep you updated if anything embarrassing happens. Bring on the awkward. Game on, 2019!
