Homemade Dumpling Soup Recipe

Oh, goodness, friends. I made this recipe for the first time about a year ago and immediately fell in love. It’s delightfully creamy, warm, and filling. I love soup, but sometimes it leaves me feeling hungry. Not this soup! It was also rather easy to prepare. I highly recommend it! To see how to make it, click here.

The first step is to brown the chicken in a sturdy pot. Then we sautee veggies, make a roux, add the liquids. The recipe calls for heavy cream but you could also use dairy free milk. I was a bit worried that my batter consistency was a but crumbly, but it turned out perfectly. I added salmon to mine for some added protein. It was the perfect cold winter night dinner.

It’s making me hungry just looking at the pictures and writing about it. Excuse me, BRB, I’m making dumplings.

What’s your favorite winter soup/stew/etc. recipe? I’d love to try them all.
