For quite some time now, Colm has been making us daily smoothies, sometimes twice a day. They usually consist of lots of frozen fruit, some yogurt, some orange juice, and the occasional protein powder for me. After our recent fishing jaunt, we have been eating a LOT less meat. I haven’t been a huge meat eater for about a decade now, but we had a traumatizing incidence with one of the wormies we got for bait and can’t pretend like all sentient beings don’t feel pain, heartbreak, defeat, etc. Colm and I haven’t been the same since. Thus, daily smoothies.
But this weekend we had the idea to make our second daily smoothie, but with Truly’s Wildberry in it. It was a boozy smoothie = smoozie. Here’s what he used:
- One and a half can of Truly’s — we used Wildberry but you could do any flavor you like. I’m trying blueberry next.
- A half cup orange juice
- A half cup of plain yogurt
- A hell of a lot of frozen fruit/fresh fruit to your liking. In the photo above, Malcolm used blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
It was DELICIOUS and I couldn’t detect any hints of the Truly’s. I don’t drink much alcohol anymore (one kidney), so one smoozie got me a lil tipsy. But I also felt nourished. No lingering hangovers. What’s especially great about this is you can customize it to your tastes. Like vegetables? Add them! Like protein powder? Add it! Like a more citrusy flavor? Use citrus fruit!
Give it a whirl and let me know what you think!
What’s your current favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise?

Ice tea has become my drink. I sometimes like a Dr Pepper or root beer. I have my daily ice tea two or three times a day. I have asked to become the NRSVP (National Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Representative of Lewisville, in Denton County Texas. It is a new position so will be building it from the ground up. Not elected just asked by the Denton County Director. Sounds like my old job at Francis Tuttle.

Hah I tried to make the tea you gave me and drink it two or three times a day, but then I did not sleep at night 🙂 Lots of caffeine to fuel your NRSVP work. I’m so proud of you and I love you lots!
