Since breaking my ankle/feet, I haven’t been able to take walks around my neighborhood, which is one of my favorite stress relievers. I’ve had to find other coping mechanisms to use while on the mend. A lovely friend suggested upper body dance parties daily which bandaged the situation, but it wasn’t quite the same.

For the past few weeks, I have been challenging myself to amble about once or twice a day while I’m at work, and I’ve even been doing some longer walks around our neighborhood with Malcolm and the dogs. What a spectacular time to get my mobility back. Walking when the leaves are hitting their peak radiance is one of my favorite autumn celebrations. Last night, we went on just such a walk with the dogs. Eeeek! These are some of my favorite scenes from our crunchy stroll at dusk.

The squeaking in the video is my rickety trash grabber. Poor Malcolm and the dogs have to wait on me as I collect trash. Community care is self care, after all.
