Vintage Pyrex Lead Test

About a week ago, I posted about my research on vintage Pyrex emitting lead, or more specifically, the decoration on the outside of the famous bowls. I got a melange of responses either confirming that vintage Pyrex is safe or that can be harmful. So naturally, I turned to Instagram. I posted a poll on my story on Instagram (@maegoeswestblog) which allows viewers to vote yes or no on some question. I was so excited to see what responses I would get.

As it turned out, there was an even tie between it is harmful and it is not harmful *eye roll*. I decided I had to test it for myself. My dad sent me a lead test kit in the mail because he is interested in the results. I am so excited to find out for myself! I will swab multiple places a few times to see if the Q-tip turns pink. I will post my results next week. Stay tuned! πŸ™‚

What side of the fence are you on — vintage Pyrex forever or nix all vintage Pyrex?
