Banana Berry Smoothie Recipe

Just about every morning my husband gets up with the sun, tends to the animals, and then makes coffee and this banana berry smoothie. The really cool thing about this recipe is you can make it your own. We buy all different kinds of fresh and frozen fruit for this, mangoes, dragon fruit, kiwis, the sky is the limit.

Recipe:
Serves two
Takes only a few minutes

1.5 cups strawberry yogurt (any kind would work, non-dairy, dairy, any flavor)

1 cup orange juice

3 cups frozen and/or fresh fruit – we use a bag mix you can get at any market which includes strawberries, raspberries, blueberries. But anything goes!

1 large banana cut into smaller pieces

.5 cup chia seeds

Some cocoa powder and granola for garnish

  1. Pour everything into your blender
  2. Hit your fruit smoothie button. This one works best for us with our machine, but feel free to use whichever button yields the consistency you want.
  3. Pour into a glass if you’re fancy, sprinkle cocoa powder and granola garnish. You could also pour into a bowl and make a smoothie bowl if you’re realllll fancy.
  4. Serve immediately and consume immediately. Even storing in the fridge for an hour or two renders the texture chunky and weird.

Easy, right?!

Notes: You can play around with this recipe and alter the portions to make sense for the consistency you want. You could add milk, coconut water, anything you want. You do you, friend!

You could also add a dollop of peanut butter for protein. My husband doesn’t love that texture, so we don’t usually use it.

You can add greens for an extra bump of nutrients. We don’t like that texture, but if you do, more power to you!

I highly recommend this because my body sings with all the nutrients and gorgeous colors.

What do you put in your smoothies?
